Nancy’s Story

Nancy Harbert has been writing most of her adult life. After completing her undergraduate education at the University of Colorado, she worked for daily newspapers and a wire service in Colorado and New Mexico. For the past 22 years, she has been a freelance writer based in Albuquerque.

She is the author of New Mexico, a Compass American Guide, published by Fodor’s. She is a stringer for Time magazine and her articles have also appeared in the New York Times, Dallas Morning News, Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News and New Mexico Magazine, among others. More than anything, she has enjoyed the diversity of people she has met in her work and telling their stories.

The true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints of morning or evening. It is a little stardust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.
Henry David Thoreau
